CHICAGO — Police have arrested a 17-year-old boy after a woman was groped while pushing a stroller on the Sauganash Trail earlier this month, Ald. Margaret Laurino (39th) said.

The teen was arrested Friday, she said. The state's attorney's office approved felony charges against him, Laurino said.

Police said the teen was charged with one felony count of criminal sexual abuse.

On the morning of Oct. 1, a woman pushing a stroller on the Northwest Side trail reported that a man walked up behind her and slapped her buttocks, according to a police alert.

The man ran away, but as the woman was walking westbound, he came back and he fondled her genitals and breasts, according to the alert.

Shortly after, witnesses told police they saw a naked man running along an elevated jogging path.

Last week, police issued a sketch artist's depiction of the suspect.

Residents also saw a man who was either naked or partially naked near the trail, Laurino told constituents.
