Man Critically Wounded in Austin Shooting

CHICAGO — A 27-year-old man was critically wounded in an Austin shooting Friday afternoon, police said.

The man was shot in the arm and torso about 3 p.m. in the 1500 block of North Lorel Avenue when a male approached on foot and fired shots, said Sgt. Bob Kane, a police spokesman.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition.

Area North detectives are investigating.
