EDISON PARK — Ebinger Elementary School will celebrate the International Day of the Girl on Thursday with a screening of the movie "Girl Rising."
The film tells the stories of girls born into challenging circumstances and their fight for empowerment and education.
“Ebinger School believes in the power of education to change not only a girl, but the world,” said Principal Serena Peterson-Klosa. “By hosting an International Day of the Girl Event at Ebinger, we are demonstrating our commitment to breaking down the barriers that prevent girls around the world from going to school."
A discussion will follow the movie, which is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Ebinger Elementary School, 7350 W. Pratt Ave.
