CHICAGO — One person is dead and three others were wounded Monday night in shootings on the South Side.

In Bronzeville, a 37-year-old man was discovered unresponsive after being shot multiple times just before 6 p.m.

Minutes earlier, around 5:51 p.m., a 30-year-old man was shot while sitting in a parked car in the 6600 block of South Ingleside Avenue in Woodlawn, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago police spokeswoman.

The man was sitting in the car when a man approached and fired shots in his direction, striking the man in his lower chest. He was taken to Stroger Hospital where he was listed in stable condition, Pacheco said.

The shooter ran off and no one is in custody. The victim was a documented gang member, Pacheco said.

Around 6:50 p.m., a juvenile was shot while in the 4600 block of South Drexel Avenue in Kenwood. Further investigation lead officers to believe the wound was self-inflicted, Pacheco said.

He was taken to Mercy Hospital in stable condition, Pacheco said. Police did not know how old he is.

Around 9:45 p.m., a 21-year-old man was shot while walking on the sidewalk in the 6200 block of South University Avenue in Woodlawn. He was struck in his right index finger and stomach and taken to Northwestern Hospital in an unknown condition, Pacheco said.

No one is in custody for the shooting, Pacheco said.
