EDGEWATER — Loyola University has invited Rogers Park and Edgewater to help name its new plaza.

The university bought the 6300 block of North Kenmore Avenue from the city last year and transformed it into a bike-and-pedestrian pathway.

So far, the university has dubbed it "Kenmore Plaza."

But now it's turned to the university community to help decide a new name.

In an online survey, Loyola asks for participants to vote for one of three names: St. Ignatius Plaza, Rambler Plaza or Loyola Plaza.

Voting is open until 5 p.m. Wednesday, said Steven Christensen, a university spokesman. The name with the most votes will be chosen as the plaza's new name, he said.

It was unclear whether the new name would be displayed in or near the plaza.
