CHICAGO — Shootings across the city left at least 17 people wounded since Saturday morning, including a 13-year-old boy, police said.

In the most recent incident, a 20-year-old man was shot in the shoulder at 12:37 in the 3200 block of East 91st Street, police said. He was taken to Advocate Trinity Hospital, where his condition had stabilized, police said.

Area South detectives are investigating the shooting; authorities believe it may be gang related.

Earlier, a man, 21, was shot in Lawndale around 7 a.m.

Someone shot the man in the 3600 block of West Grenshaw Street, striking the man in his back, according to Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The shooting may have been a drive-by, Pacheco said, citing preliminary information.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where his condition had stabilized, Pacheco said.

The men were seated in a parked car in the 6300 block of South Seeley Avenue when a light-colored van pulled up and someone from within the car fired shots, striking one of the 19-year-olds in his leg and grazing the other in the back of his head, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The victims drove themselves to Holy Cross Hospital, Estrada said. The 19-year-old shot in his back is in stable condition, while the other victim was treated and released from the hospital, he said.

Police said the incident appears to be gang related, as the victims are both gang affiliated.

No one is in custody.

During the fight, someone began spraying bullets, striking the boy in the side of his torso, one 18-year-old in his leg and the other 18-year-old in his body, Estrada said.

All of the victims were taken to Stroger Hospital, Estrada said. Both men are in stable condition, while the boy is in good condition.
