CHICAGO — At least 12 people were injured and one 21-year-old man was killed in shootings across the city since Saturday evening.

The fatal shooting occurred Saturday evening in East Garfield Park when a man was fatally wounded while driving.

The most recent shooting took place at 4:19 in the 10900 block of South Indiana Avenue when a 33-year-old man was shot in the right leg while in a vehicle, police said. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in good condition, and Area South detectives are investigating.

In other shootings:

• About 10:45 a.m., in the 5200 block of West Diversey Parkway, a 37-year-old woman sustained a gunshot wound to the lower left leg, police said. The woman was "uncooperative," police said, and declined to be taken to a hospital. She was treated on the scene.

• A man was shot in Belmont Cragin around 3:45 a.m.

Someone shot the man, 26, in the 2600 block of North Long Avenue, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police Department spokesman.

He sustained a gunshot wound in his left thigh, Estrada said, and was transported to Illinois Masonic Hospital. No further information was immediately available. No one is in custody for this shooting.

• Around 2:40 a.m., a 34-year-old man was in the passenger seat of a car going southbound in the 7700 block of South Stewart Avenue when someone opened fire, striking him in his head, Estrada said.

He was initially taken to St. Bernard Hospital, but was later transferred to Stroger Hospital where he is in critical condition, Estrada said. Police said the shooting appears to be gang-related, as the victim is a documented gang member.

No one is in custody, and detectives are investigating.

• A 23-year-old man was shot in Pilsen about 1:50 Sunday morning, police said. He was standing on the sidewalk in the 1700 block of South Loomis Street when he heard several shots and felt pain in his chest, Estrada said.

Witnesses at the scene said the man was throwing up gang signs moments before he was shot, Estrada said.

An acquaintance took the man to Stroger Hospital where his condition had stabilized, Estrada said. No one is in custody.

• At 1:08 a.m., a man and woman were injured in what police believe to be a domestic-related shooting at a party in Back of the Yards, police said.

Police said the shooter initially got into a verbal fight at a party in the 5400 block of South Justine Street, which caused him to leave. A short time later he returned with a gun and opened fire, striking a 39-year-old woman in both of her buttocks and her legs and a 38-year-old man in his left leg, Estrada said.

The woman was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, while the man is in good condition after being taken to St. Bernard Hospital, Estrada said.

• Three people were shot in Park Manor around 9:52 p.m. Saturday.

Two men, ages 23 and 20, and a woman, 18, were walking into an alley in the 6900 block of South Vernon Avenue about to enter a backyard of a nearby residence when someone came out of the alley and fired shots, Estrada said.

All three victims fled the scene. The 23-year-old man and 18-year-old woman were both taken to St. Bernard Hospital. The man's condition stabilized, while the woman is in good condition.

The other man was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition, Estrada said.

No one is in custody.

• Just minutes earlier a 16-year-old girl and a 19-year-old boy were shot in West Englewood.

They were at a party in the 6000 block of Paulina Street when a gray and black Jeep drove by and someone opened fire, striking the 16-year-old in her right shin and the 19-year-old in his back, Estrada said.

Police said it appears the victims were not standing together, and they do not think the girl was the intended target,  Estrada added.

Both victims were taken to Stroger Hospital in stable condition, Estrada said.

No one is in custody.
