CHICAGO — An 18-year-old man was fatally shot on the Far South Side Thursday evening.

Around 9:40 p.m., the man was walking with another man on the sidewalk in the 13300 block of South Langley Avenue in Riverdale when two armed men wearing black hooded sweatshirts walked up to them and fired shots, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago police spokesman.

The 18-year-old was struck on the left side of his torso, Estrada said.

He was pronounced dead on the scene, according to police. The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office on Friday morning identified him as Kamaal Burton. His address was not available.

No one is in custody, and detectives are investigating.
