One Dead, Seven Wounded in Weekend Shootings

CHICAGO — At least one person is dead and seven others wounded in shootings since Friday night.

The fatal shooting of a teen in Bronzeville occurred about 3 p.m.

Two people were shot in Logan Square about 7:45 p.m., police said. A 17-year-old boy and a 20-year-old man both suffered gunshot wounds to their legs while in the 1700 block of North Kimball Avenue, police said. They were taken to Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center, where their conditions had stabilized.

About 5:45 p.m., an 18-year-old man was shot multiple times in the legs in the 9200 block of South Clyde Avenue, police said. He was in "stable" condition at Advocate Christ Medical Center.

At about 12:40, a 39-year-old man was shot in the stomach near the intersection of East 57th Street and South Prairie Avenue, police said. The man, who was in stable condition at Mount Sinai Hospital, shot during a robbery attempt, police said. The gunman fled after shooting the victim, and it's unclear if he took anything.

Around 1:30 a.m., a woman, 23, and a man, 42, were inside a business in the 1800 West 87th Street when someone opened fire from outside the building, police said.

The woman was grazed in the leg and refused medical attention. The man was grazed in the head and walked into Advocate Christ Medical Center in good condition, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a police spokeswoman.

No one is in custody for the shooting.

Around 11:10 p.m., a 27-year-old man was shot while standing in the middle of a group in the 1700 block of North Mason Avenue in North Austin. He was struck in his arm and leg and taken to West Suburban Hospital in good condition, Sedevic said.

No one is in custody for the shooting.
