'Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious' Singalong Comes to Piano Bar Saturday

WICKER PARK —  A sing-along paying tribute to the composers of some of the most popular songs in Hollywood history is coming to a Wicker Park piano bar on Saturday.

Scheduled for 8 p.m. Saturday at Davenport's Piano Bar and Cabaret, the "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" Sherman Brothers Tribute show led by Jenifer French & Friends will spotlight the work of Richard M. and Robert B. Sherman.

According to a Facebook post by French, the Sherman brothers were Oscar- and Grammy-award-winning songwriters who wrote more than 1,000 well-known songs, and "composed more than 50 iconic motion picture song scores, numerous Broadway stage productions, countless songs for TV, theme park songs, [and] chart topping hits for pop recording artists."

Song selections come from such musical classics as "The Jungle Book," "Mary Poppins," "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang," "The Aristocats," "Bedknobs & Broomsticks," '"Winnie the Pooh," "Charlotte’s Web," "The Parent Trap," "That Darn Cat" and more.

Jenifer French & Friends features French, Jim Cox (bass), Phil Gratteau (drums), Adam Haus (guitar and ukulele), George Howe and Daryl Nitz. Musical Director is George Howe and directo is Daryl Nitz.
