CHICAGO — A boy was sent to the hospital after a Rogers Park shooting in the early evening Wednesday.

Around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, the boy, 16, was on the street in the 2000 block of West Birchwood Avenue when two people fired shots from across the street, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a police spokesman.

The boy suffered a gunshot wound in the hand, Estrada said.

He was taken to St. Francis Hospital where he was in good condition, Estrada said.
