CHICAGO — Four people were wounded in three separate shootings since Monday afternoon including two people shot in Back of the Yards.

Around 3 p.m. Monday, two men were shot multiple times in the 5400 block of South Laflin Street, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago police spokeswoman. A 19-year-old man was in stable condition after being shot in both legs and his left hand. A 31-year-old man was also in serious condition after being shot in his stomach and right shoulder.

Both men were taken to Stroger Hospital after the shooting, which appears to be gang-related, Pacheco said.

In the most recent shooting, a 48-year-old man was hospitalized after being shot with a pellet gun in East Garfield Park around 11:15 p.m. Monday. The man was with friends near the alley when someone opened fire, striking the man in his wrist. He was taken to Norwegian American Hospital in stable condition. Two people are in custody for the shooting, but no charges have been filed, Pacheco said.

Around 8:30 p.m., a man was shot in his leg while in the 2300 block of West Adams Street on the Near West Side. He was driven to Stroger Hospital in an unknown condition. No more information was available about the shooting, Pacheco said.
