BELMONT CRAGIN — St. Patrick High School improved to 2-0 with a convincing 47-21 victory over visiting Lane Tech Saturday at Hanson Stadium.

Senior quarterback Zach Fuller completed 17-of-25 passes for 315 yards and five touchdowns, including four to junior wide receiver Patrick Devlin.

Devlin, the son of former St. Patrick basketball standout Brian Devlin, had six total receptions for 165 yards.

"Devlin has really fit in well with the other receivers," Shamrocks coach Dan Galante said. "He's a big target for Zach at 6-foot-5."

Fuller also tossed a 53-yard scoring pass to Trevor Heinlein, who had six receptions for 110 yards. Fuller also converted five extra point attempts.

Running back/linebacker Mike Olijynk had a 1-yard touchdown run, while Nolan Hart returned one of four Indian fumbles for a touchdown.

For Lane Tech (0-2), William Yerkes scored on a 1-yard run and threw for 100 yards on six completions, including a 13-yard TD pass to Sean Psenka.

Fuller, who rushed for 62 yards, noted that linemen Billy Moriarty, Mike Lasaponara, Ryan Gillespie, Matt Schamrowski, and Shannon Taliaferro gave him protection in the pocket.

"He's really grown as a player," Galante said of Fuller. "He had a terrific summer and has stepped up as a leader. He's got a great group of players to be with."

Conference play begins Saturday at 11 a.m. against Nazareth (2-0) at Hanson Stadium.
