THE LOOP — Before things get rolling at the 10th annual Windy City Wine Festival this year, the Grant Park Conservancy hopes revelers will be feeling extra generous and plan to stop by Savour, its kickoff fundraiser party at Buckingham Fountain from 6-9:30 p.m. Thursday.

Proceeds from the event, which costs nearly $170 per person including fees for advance tickets, will benefit the Grant Park advocacy group and its partner in the event, the Trotter Project, founded after famous chef Charlie Trotter's death in November.

Lizzie Schiffman previews the Wine Festival and how you can get involved:

More than 60 area chefs, restaurateurs and specialty purveyors will prepare and serve signature bites, including Acadia's Ryan McCaskey, Giuseppe Tentori from GT Fish and Oyster, Mindy Segal of Hot Chocolate, Publican's Paul Kahan, Thalia Spice's Vincent Tan and more.

Participating craft breweries include Begyle Brewing, Haymarket Brewery, Lagunitas Brewing Co. and Revolution Brewing, joined by nearly 40 wineries and importers.

Check Please! host Catherine Di Orio will co-host the event, and later in the evening the David Young Band will perform.

Proceeds will fund Grant Park Conservancy projects like a forthcoming skate park, and the Trotter Project's educational and philanthropic projects.

Tickets are available in advance through Savour's EventBrite page and all guests must be 21 or older.
