WICKER PARK —  If you are looking for free coffee, there will be plenty of it during the daytime hours at Cafe Bustelo's 10-day long pop-up taking over Filter Cafe. The event runs Friday through Sept. 14, though the temporary cafe will close at 5 p.m. daily.

Beginning 7 a.m. Friday, Miami, Fla.- based Cafe Bustelo is taking over Filter, a Wicker Park cafe at 1373 N. Milwaukee Ave., to offer a pop-up cafe with free coffee, live music and a social media savvy Instaprint image gallery that will "capture the essence of the quintessential coffee shop experience, organized by hashtags," according to a news release issued Tuesday.

The goal of Cafe Bustelo will be "creating a place where locals can work remotely, host meetings and create tangible connections," organizers said.

The Cafe Bustelo Pop-up Cafe will host bands including Gemini Club and Glasslux, and DJ sets from Timbuck2 and Zebo.

A sign in the window of Filter announced that the cafe would be closed Wednesday and Thursday and reopen on Friday, Sept, 16. Filter is normally open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

Cafe Bustelo's pop-up hours are 7 a.m to 5 p.m. beginning Friday through Sept. 14.

The Chicago pop-up will be the first in a three-city initiative with Los Angeles and New York.

In addition to free coffee, local bands and DJs, there will be workshops promoting Café Bustelo’s newly expanded $45,000 college scholarship program.
