Back of the Yards Man Dies Following Little Village Shooting

CHICAGO — A Back of the Yards man died Tuesday afternoon after he was shot early Monday morning in Little Village.

Oscar Rodriguez, 22, of the 4900 block of South Winchester Avenue, was pronounced dead at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Sinai Hospital, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

Rodriguez and a 17-year-old boy were on a porch in the 4300 block of West 25th Place about 2:50 a.m. Monday when two gunmen emerged from a car and opened fire, police said.

The teen was shot in his arm, back and chest. Rodriguez was shot in his head. Both were transported to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, police said.
