CHICAGO — A 38-year-old woman was fatally stabbed Wednesday morning in Albany Park.

Officers were called to a home in the 4700 block of North Lawndale Avenue for a woman stabbed around 8:20 a.m. The woman was transported to Illinois Masonic Medical Center in critical condition, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a police spokeswoman.

The victim was identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office as Erenbira Pimentel-Hernandez of the 5000 block of West Grand Avenue.

She was pronounced dead at Advocate Illinois Masonic Hospital at 12:40 p.m.

The stabbing appeared to be domestic-related and no one is in custody, Sedevic said.
