Jackie Robinson West Parade Route Set for Wednesday

CHICAGO — The route has been set for Wednesday's parade honoring the national champion Jackie Robinson West Little League team.

The mayor's office on Monday announced the route and details for Wednesday's celebration, which will begin at 9 a.m. at Jackie Robinson Park, 10540 S. Morgan St., with the parade commencing at 10 a.m.

The parade route will take the Morgan Park-based squad, which won Chicago's second-ever Little League U.S. title, throughout the South Side and eventually to Millennium Park Downtown.

“The players and coaches of the Jackie Robinson West All Stars are the pride of Chicago,” Mayor Rahm Emanuel said in a statement. “They have electrified our city and rallied people from every neighborhood to come together and support these great kids. They have brought out the true spirit of Chicago and I am proud to honor our U.S. Champions with a well-earned Chicago celebration.”

The parade route is as follows:

• Northbound on Aberdeen to 105th
• East on 105th to Halsted
• Northbound on Halsted from 105th to 35th Street
• Eastbound on 35th Street to Indiana
• Northbound on Indiana to 31st Street
• Merge onto northbound Michigan Avenue
• Northbound on Michigan Ave. to Randolph

Throughout the parade route, fans are encouraged to gather at one of the following locations to show their support to the team.

• 103rd and Halsted
• 95th and Halsted
• 87th and Halsted
• 79th and Halsted
• 63rd and Halsted
• U.S. Cellular Field

The parade will end with a rally at Millennium Park at approximately 11 a.m. No street closures are planned for the parade.
