Jackie Robinson West Fans Go Wild As Team Wins U.S. Championship

THE LOOP — As Jackie Robinson West battled to a victory in the U.S. championship game Saturday in Pennsylvania, fans went nuts at two planned watch parties on State Street and at the Kroc Center on the South Side. 

The team battled back from 3-0 and 5-4 deficits against to win the crown against Las Vegas Saturday. They now face South Korea in the Little League World Series title game on Sunday.

Rain sent fans at the two watch parties inside or under cover, including one on the Far South Side at the Kroc Center, 1250 W. 119th St., and another Downtown on State Street in front of the Chicago Theater between Randolph and Lake streets.

State Street was to be closed between Randolph and Lake streets beginning at 12:30 p.m. until shortly after the game ends.
