CHICAGO — The Chicago Food Social, which brings together chefs, food trucks and culinary competitions, has expanded to two days.
Foodie festival attendees of all ages will be able to participate in a contest to make mayonnaise faster than a culinary student, and kids will be challenged in a cupcake-frosting match.
Chefs Carlos Gaytan from Mexique, Stephen Dunne from Volo Restaurant and Wine Bar/Paramount Room, and Brian Jupiter from Frontier will give live demos. Beverage director Will Duncan will also give a demonstration of how to make Punch House salvager's punch.
The event will also feature food trucks, including Beavers Coffee and Donuts and Chicago Lunchbox.
The Food Social runs 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Aug. 23 and 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Aug. 24.
