Teens Wounded in Canaryville, Pilsen Among Five Shot Overnight Citywide

CHICAGO — Five people were wounded in shootings citywide since 6 p.m. Thursday, including two teenage boys shot in separate incidents in Canaryville and Pilsen, police said.

In Canaryville, a 16-year-old boy was shot in his stomach about 7:45 p.m. while he was in the 4500 block of South Lowe Avenue, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a police spokeswoman. The boy was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in serious condition.

In Pilsen, a 19-year-old man was shot in his back by a gunman who approached him while in the 1100 block of West 17th Street at 11:20 p.m., Pacheco said. He was taken to Stroger Hospital where he is in stable condition.

In Roseland, a 20-year-old man was walking in the 100 block of East 110th Street about 11:30 p.m. Thursday when he heard shots and felt pain, Pacheco said.

The man is in good condition at Roseland Community Hospital after being shot in his foot.

In West Pullman, a 17-year-old boy was shot in his leg in a possible drive-by shooting, Pacheco said. The incident occurred in the 11700 block of South Loomis Street at 6:06 p.m. The boy was taken to Christ.

Early Friday morning, a man walked into Provident Hospital in Washington Park saying he was shot in Lakeview, Pacheco said.
