CHICAGO — A 21-year-old man is dead after being found shot in a Marquette Park alley Monday morning, police said.

The man was found unresponsive at 7:24 a.m. in a car in the 7300 block of South Kedzie Avenue, according to Officer Ana Pacheco, a police spokeswoman. He had been shot twice in his torso, she said.

The gunman had approached the man on foot before firing several shots and fleeing, police said.

The 21-year-old man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he was pronounced dead at 8:33 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. 

Officials there identified the man as Vincente Obregon, of the 6400 block of South Whipple Street.
