ENGLEWOOD — The annual outdoor festivals sponsored by the Resident Association of Greater Englewood will end this month for the summer.
The last "So Fresh Saturdays" festival runs from 3-8 p.m. Aug. 30 at Hamilton Park, 513 W. 72nd St. The purpose of the festivals, said Asiaha Butler, president of RAGE, is to keep residents positively engaged and safe for the summer.
So Fresh is a community event that provides food, music and family entertainment while showcasing various artistic expressions and educational workshops that focuses on youths, entrepreneurship, hip hop, media, social networks, community activism, and culturally relevant history through music, film and art, Butler said.
Last Saturday the festival was held at Ogden Park, 6500 S. Racine Ave., where Grammy-award rapper and music producer Che" Rhymefest" Smith helped judge an open mic contest.
