NORTH CENTER — The wait isn't quite over for Chicago's first cider pub The Northman, which isn't scheduled to open until September, but a pair of pop-up previews should satisfy curiosity seekers in the meantime.
A post on The Northman's Facebook account promised "Introductions August 11th and 12th," with owners clarifying that the teaser dates referred to the pop-ups, not the grand opening.
Additional details regarding the previews, including ticketing information, will be revealed via the pub's Twitter account @NorthmanChi.
The Northman, 4337 N. Lincoln Ave., is the latest venture from the team behind Fountainhead and Bar on Buena. The group bought the bar, formerly home to Copper House and Jury's, in December and announced the cider concept in January.
Plans are to have more than 100 varieties of cider available via tap, cask, can or bottle. Chef Cleetus Friedman will run The Northman's kitchen and is developing a menu designed to complement the ciders.
