Girl, 12, Among Five Wounded in Citywide Shootings Friday

CHICAGO — Five people were injured in shootings across the city Friday afternoon, including one 12-year-old girl, police said.

Three people were wounded in the first shooting, which took place about 3:30 in the 700 block of North Ridgeway Avenue in East Garfield Park.

Two people suffered graze wounds. One girl, 12, was injured in the foot, and a male, 44, was grazed on the calf. Another female, 32, was shot in the right eye, police said.

The male was treated on the scene, while the 12-year-old girl and 32-year-old woman were taken to Stroger Hospital in stable condition, police said. 

At 5:51 p.m., in the 3900 block of West Wabansia Avenue, in Logan Square, a 33-year-old man was shot multiple times in his legs, police said. He took himself to Sts. Mary and Elizabeth Hospital. His condition was unknown.

Later, a 17-year-old boy was shot in his foot at 6:32 p.m. in the 4900 block of South Paulina Avenue in Back of the Yards, police said. He was taken to an area hospital, where his condition had stabilized, but police had no more details.
