Eight Shot Across the City Wednesday Night

CHICAGO — Eight people were wounded in shootings across the city overnight.

Between 10:30 p.m. and 11:15 p.m., three people were wounded in two shootings on the South Side.

About five minutes before 10 p.m., two men were shot in Rogers Park.

At 7:12 p.m., a 20-year-old man was shot in the back in the 1400 block of West 17th Street in Pilsen.

Around 4:30 p.m., a 23-year-old man was shot in the left arm and grazed in the back while standing in the 500 block of North Lavergne Avenue in Austin. The man is a documented gang member and was uncooperative with police, said Officer Ron Gaines, a Chicago Police spokesman.

A 42-year-old woman was grazed in the chest and shot in the finger in Near West Side. She was standing in the 2100 block of West Washington Boulevard between two groups of men when they began arguing and opened fire around 3:55 p.m. The woman was in stable condition at Roseland Hospital, Gaines said.
