THE LOOP — A time-lapse video shot over the course of three months from 225 N. Michigan Ave. shows the demolition of 200 N. Michigan Ave condensed into less than four minutes.

The video, posted on reddit Tuesday by a user who says he works on the 20th floor of the building across the street, shows the six-story building being meticulously reduced to rubble floor by floor in footage shot from April 16 to July 11.

The building was razed to make room for new development: a 488-foot-tall, 41-story mixed-use building featuring 402 apartments and two stories of retail.

That's the latest, scaled-down plan for the John Buck Company's mixed-use glass building, which the group first pitched to residents and Ald. Brendan Reilly (42nd) last September.

The demolition displaced longstanding businesses in the former 200 N. Michigan Ave. including Fred Astaire Dance Studio and That's Our Bag.
