SOUTH LOOP — Revisit Prairie Avenue, once Chicago's most exclusive residential street, in a series of walking tours led by Glessner House Museum curator William Tyre.

Prairie Avenue was the home of George Pullman, Marshall Field and other big names in the late 19th century, and the tour will spotlight surviving mansions from that era and include interior tours of the Wheeler Mansion and Second Presbyterian Church.

Tours depart at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. on July 20, Aug. 17 and Sept. 21 from the museum at 1800 S. Prairie Ave. Tickets cost $15 per person, and reservations can be made by calling 312-326-1480.
