HYDE PARK — Nichols Park kicks off 10 weeks of free Sunday concerts this week.

Bernard Crump starts the series at 4 p.m. Sunday with a performance of songs by James Brown and Muddy Waters.

All performances will be at the north end of the park, 1355 E. 53rd St., next to the north fountain.

The season continues at 4 p.m. every Sunday through Sept. 14.

July 27, The Damn Choir, indie rock
Aug. 3, Billy Flynn, blues
Aug. 10, Akasha, reggae
Aug. 17, Dos Santos Anti Bear Orquestra, Latin and Cumbia
Aug. 24, The Heard, funk
Aug. 31, Dave Herrero, Texas rock
Sept. 7, Strictly Jug Nuts, jug band
Sept. 14, Billy Branch and the Sons of Blues, Chicago blues
