HYDE PARK — Parking got a little worse on Monday on 53rd Street.

Through Aug. 5, the University of Chicago will be installing fiber optic cable at its new business incubator offices, the Chicago Innovation Exchange, limiting parking along three blocks of 53rd Street.

From 9 a.m.-4 p.m. weekdays for the next three weeks, parking will be limited on the north side of 53rd Street while cable is installed at the Harper Theater Building, 1463 E. 53rd St. Parking will then be limited on the south side of 53rd Street for installation at the Schuster Building, 1452 E. 53rd St.

The university is offering free validated parking at Harper Court, 5235 S. Harper Court, for anyone visiting a business on 53rd Street between Lake Park Avenue and Blackstone Avenue.
