CHICAGO — A 17-year-old boy was fatally shot in Brainerd Tuesday night.

The boy was walking with a 15-year-old boy through Robichaux Park in the 9200 block of South Eggleston Avenue at 10:07 p.m. when a man got out of a white van and began shooting, said Officer Ron Gaines, a police spokesman.

The 17-year-old boy was shot in his chest and died at the scene, Gaines said. The 15-year-old boy was shot in his leg and taken to Roseland Hospital in good condition.

Both teens were documented gang members. No one is in custody for the shooting, Gaines said.
