Clearing Shooting Leaves Man, 30, Dead

CHICAGO —A 30-year-old man has died following a shooting in the Clearing neighborhood, authorities said.

The shooting happened about 1 a.m. Saturday in a Walgreens parking lot on the northwest corner of West 63rd Street and South Austin Avenue, police said.

A 30-year-old man was shot in his left abdomen and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.

He was pronounced dead there at 5:46 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. Officials identified the man as Joel Dentley, of the 5000 block of South Keating Avenue.

Police said Bentley was a documented gang member.
