Englewood Shooting Leaves Man Wounded

CHICAGO — A 29-year-old man was wounded in a shooting in Englewood about an hour after midnight.

Around 1:10 a.m. Monday, the man was standing on the sidewalk when four men approached and began to beat him up. When he tried to run away he was shot in his right hand. He was taken to St. Bernard Hospital in stable condition, said Officer Hector Alfaro, a police spokesman.

No one is in custody for the shooting and detectives are investigating.
