Two Men Shot in West, Far South Side Shootings

CHICAGO — Police are investigating the shooting of a man in Lawndale Saturday afternoon.

The man, 28, was in the 600 block of South Independence Boulevard when he was shot in his left hip about 5:15, police said.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was in good condition, said Officer Stacey Cooper, a police spokeswoman, citing preliminary information.

No more information was available.

Another man, 21, was wounded in a West Pullman shooting about 5:20 p.m. He was standing in the 0-100 block of East 121st Place when someone across the street fired at him, striking him in the back. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in stable conditon.
