
CHICAGO — A 27-year-old man died after being shot in a North Lawndale drive-by Friday night.
The incident occurred in the 1300 block of South Central Park Avenue at 11:56 p.m., said Officer Ana Pacheco, a police spokeswoman.
The man was on the sidewalk when shots were fired from a dark-colored sedan.
The man, identified as Dewey Knox of the 1400 block of South Troy Avenue, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital with a bullet wound in his back. He died there shortly after midnight, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
Police said Knox was 28, while the Medical Examiner's Office said he was 27.
