CHICAGO — A 74-year-old man was shot in Morgan Park Tuesday afternoon while driving a car with a documented gang member inside, police said.
The victim was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center after being shot in his neck and leg at 1:30 p.m. while driving in the 11200 block of South Throop Street.
Police do not believe the man, who is in stable condition, was the intended target in the shooting.
The man's passenger, a documented gang member, was uninjured in the incident.
The man was shot by someone who emerged from another car on the passenger's side of his vehicle, police said.
No one is in custody.
