
CHICAGO — A 29-year-old man has died after he was fatally shot Monday night on the Near West Side, authorities said.
About 10:45 p.m. Monday, police responded to a call of shots fired in the 2400 block of West Fillmore Street.
Officers found the man unresponsive in the street, said Officer Hector Alfaro, a Chicago Police spokesman. The man had been shot repeatedly in the back, Alfaro said.
The man, identified as 29-year-old Leonard Goldman of the same block, was pronounced dead on the scene at 11:05 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
As of Tuesday morning, no one was in custody in connection with the shooting, police said.
