CHICAGO — A shooting near Leone Beach in Rogers Park left two men wounded Thursday evening.

The shooting occurred around 10:50 p.m. at a barbecue in the 1200 block of West Touhy Avenue, said Officer Hector Alfaro, a police spokesman.

A 37-year-old man was shot multiple times and a 36-year-old man shot in his leg in the incident. Both victims were in stable condition at St. Francis Hospital, Alfaro said.

Police are investigating and no one is in custody.

The shooting was part of a spate of violence Thursday afternoon into Friday that left 15 people wounded.

Ald. Joe Moore (49th) plans to hold a community meeting next week after a violent start to 2014 in Rogers Park. Police District Cmdr. Thomas Waldera will also attend the meeting, scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday at the Loyola Park field house, 1230 W. Greenleaf Ave.
