BRIGHTON PARK — A 2-year-old girl is in critical condition and four women were seriously hurt after a car accident on the Southwest Side early Tuesday morning.

About 5:10 a.m., a car struck a light pole in the 3900 block of South Kedzie Avenue, authorities said.

The 2-year-old girl and a 19-year-old woman were transported to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious-to-critical condition, fire officials said.

Three more women, ages 19, 20 and 24, were transported to Stroger Hospital, also in serious-to-critical condition.

By 5:45 a.m., the accident scene was secured, fire officials said. Authorities did not immediately provide details about what led to the accident.
