CHICAGO — Planning to drink a little too much this St. Patrick's Day weekend?

Don't get behind the wheel.

Police from the Chicago Police Department's Deering District will begin a special "DUI Strike Force Patrol" from 8 p.m. Friday through 4 a.m. Saturday.

During that time, officers will saturate part of the district looking for drunken drivers.

Authorities will also be on the lookout for speeders and seat belt violations.

The Deering District encompasses 14 square miles and serves a number of South Side neighborhoods, including Armour Square, Bridgeport, Canaryville, McKinley Park and Back of the Yards.

A similar effort in the Austin neighborhood earlier this month netted a total of 108 tickets, including four DUI arrests, 28 "unsafe vehicle violations" and five towed vehicles.
