CHICAGO — A 41-year-old man was shot in his back on an Austin sidewalk Friday night, police said.
Police arrived in the 1400 block of North Leclaire Avenue responding to shots fired and found the man wounded in his back, said Officer Jose Estrada, a police spokesman.
The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition.
The victim has known gang affiliations, but the motive remains uncertain, Estrada said.
No one is in custody.
