HYDE PARK — The Museum of Science and Industry is offering free admission to children throughout February.

Up to four kids ages 3-11 will be able to get into the museum for free with each paid adult ticket.

Tickets much be bought at the museum, and include all regular museum exhibits like the human-sized hamster wheel and indoor lightning exhibit.

The museum, 5700 S. Lake Shore Drive, will also be featuring the “Black Creativity Innovation Studio” exhibit all February with regular admission. The exhibit offers visitors a chance to participate in do-it-yourself science experiments based on the advances made by African-American scientists and inventors.

The guided activities of the exhibit for kids age 8 and older last about 30 minutes and start every half-hour between 1 and 3 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on weekends.

Special exhibits like Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives, the coal mine and U-505 submarine will still require separate tickets.

The museum is open from 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. every day in February.
