CHICAGO — A 20-year-old man shot in West Englewood Sunday evening was among seven people shot this weekend, including one man who died from injuries.
The 20-year-old man was walking in the 7100 block of South Damen Avenue around 8:45 p.m. Sunday when he heard shots and felt pain. The man then fled to a nearby home and collapsed on the porch, said Officer Amina Greer, a police spokeswoman.
The man was listed in stable condition at Advocate Christ Hospital after being shot in the stomach and back, Greer said.
Shortly after 11 p.m. Saturday evening, Marquise Harris, 16, was fatally shot outside a party in Woodlawn after being in a fight. Harris was among five people shot overnight Saturday into Sunday.
Around 3 a.m. Saturday, a 23-year-old man was shot in West Town, police said.
