CHICAGO — One man was killed and another injured in shootings on an Englewood block on New Year's Eve night, police said.

A 26-year-old man was shot in the head outside of a convenience store in the 7100 block of South Vincennes Avenue at 8:18 p.m., said Michael Sullivan.

That victim was identified as Vincent Rogers of the 7100 block of South Damen Avenue, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

Rogers was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Two minutes later, a 23-year-old man was shot in his hip in the same block. That man was taken to St. Bernard Hospital and Health Care Center, where his condition is "stable."

It is unclear if the two incidents are related.
