Man Charged in West Rogers Park Hit-and-Run that Injured 3 Pedestrians

CHICAGO — Reth Yiv was hit with numerous charges after he struck three people with his car and fled the scene Sunday night.

Yiv, 46, critically injured three pedestrians, including a 71-year-old woman and 68-year-old man, as he drove west on Devon Avenue and they crossed the intersection near Devon Avenue and Campbell Avenue around 8:35 p.m. Sunday.

Yiv, of the 4000 block of West Devon Avenue, fled the scene and made a left on Maplewood Avenue, where he struck a Honda Odyssey and fled again.

The three pedestrians were in critical condition after the incident.

Yiv on Tuesday was charged with three counts of both failing to report and accident and failure to yield to a pedestrian. He was also charged with leaving the scene of an accident and negligent driving.
