CHICAGO — Santa has his sleigh. Chicago has "HoliDivvy."
Divvy, the city's bike share program, has unveiled a single candy cane-themed bike that riders can take to any one of its 300 stations through New Year's Day.
“The HoliDivvy bike will be a fun and cheerful way for Chicagoans to use Divvy bike sharing during the holiday season. Even in cold weather, Divvy remains a transportation option for holiday shoppers and festive revelers,” Mayor Rahm Emanuel said in a statement. “I wish all Divvy riders a safe and warm holiday season.”
City officials say the bike was designed to be fully reflective and was designed by Spoken Art, an Irving Park-based artist collaborative specializing in bike designs.
This summer, Divvy had a special red bike that was at the center of a contest.
HoliDivvy also comes with a prize. Photographers who post the best pictures with the hashtag "#HOLIDIVVY" on social media could win a beanie or an annual membership.
