CHICAGO — Ald. Joe Moreno (1st) is looking for the best of his ward.
Moreno and Joe Glorioso, a construction consultant, are hosting "The Inaugural 1st Ward Awards" — appropriately enough — at 1st Ward Events, 2033 W. North Ave.
Before the free event at 6 p.m. Thursday, residents are asked to vote on their favorites in 11 categories including best restaurant, best bar and best local politician who isn't Joe Moreno. For a full list of categories and to vote, fill out the survey.
A lifetime achievement award will also be presented at the event.
Anyone may attend, and the dress code requires "black tie, street clothes and everything in between," according to organizers.
