CLEARING — A Chicago Lawn teenager is dead after he was fatally stabbed early Monday morning.

Jesse Gonzalez, 18, of the 6100 block of South Rockwell Street, was pronounced dead at 7:41 a.m. Monday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

Police said the stabbing in the Clearing neighborhood stemmed from a fight but could not provide further details surrounding the circumstances of the fight.

The fight that led to Gonzalez's death broke out about 1:30 a.m. Monday in the 6500 block of South Kilpatrick, said Officer Ron Gaines, a Chicago Police Department spokesman. After he was stabbed, Gonzalez was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he was pronounced dead hours later.
