EAST SIDE — Two men were shot while sitting in their car in East Side Tuesday night, police said.

The two men were sitting in a car in the 10600 block of South Green Bay Avenue when a light-colored car approached around 8:35 p.m.Tuesday. The men in the other car began yelling gang slogans before opening fire, said Officer Amina Greer, a police spokeswoman.

The two wounded men drove themselves to Trinity Hospital, Greer said. One man, 31, was shot in his thigh and was in good condition. The other man, 34, was shot in his stomach and transferred to Stroger Hospital in serious condition.

No one was in custody for the shooting, and police are investigating, Greer said.
