CHICAGO — Two men were killed and six others wounded in shootings Friday night and Saturday. Two men were also killed earlier Friday evening in gun violence.

The most recent homicide happened about 3 a.m. Saturday in University Village on the Near West Side, said Officer Jose Estrada, a police spokesman.

Jamal Coleman, 22, of the 5400 block of West Monroe Street, was shot multiple times in his legs and pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital at 3:22 a.m., authorities said.

Officers found Coleman on the sidewalk in the 1200 block of West Washburne Avenue when they responded to a call of shots fired. A second victim — a 23-year-old man who was shot in his leg — drove himself to Stroger Hospital, Estrada said.

While the men were shot during the same incident, it was unclear whether they were together.

About 11:15 p.m. Friday, a 37-year-old man was fatally shot multiple times in his back as he walked down an alley in the 6000 block of South Halsted Street in Englewood, Estrada said. He was identified as Robert Hart, 37.

The man — whose identity was being held pending family notification — was pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital at 12:01 a.m. Saturday.

Several hours earlier, 21-year-old Brenden Temple was fatally shot in his head about 6:30 p.m. in the 6600 block of South Honore Street in West Englewood, authorities said.

Jaleel Pearson, 18, died after being shot in his arm and chest in the 2200 block of East 71st Street in South Shore about 6:15 p.m. Friday, authorities said.

In non-fatal shootings:

• At about 5:20 Saturday evening, two people were shot in the 6900 block of South Racine Avenue. A 19-year-old man was shot in his right hand and left hip, and a 22-year-old man was shot in the right calf, police said. Police had no information on their conditions.

• A 41-year-old man was shot during an argument about a parking space in the Gold Coast early Saturday, Estrada said. The man was struck in his abdomen in the first block of East Chestnut Street about 4 a.m.

The shooter fled in a white car, and the victim was listed in serious condition at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

• A 30-year-old man is in critical condition at Mount Sinai Hospital after he was shot in his abdomen, arms and legs in the 1200 block of South Kedvale Avenue, Estrada said. As the man was getting out of his car about 1:25 a.m., a shooter in another car opened fire.

• In West Pullman, an 18-year-old was shot in both of his legs while walking on the sidewalk in the 12600 block of South Stewart Avenue about 1:20 a.m. Saturday, Estrada said. The teen was listed as "stable" on Saturday.
